What To Wear
What To Pack
For an airport connection, keep a layer handy. For a future island visit, pack for humidity, rain, and the setting: temple clothing needs more coverage than a resort pool outfit.
Money And Payments
Cash And Cards
Hotels, malls, larger restaurants, and established tourist businesses usually accept cards. Warungs, market stalls, parking, and smaller local stops are where rupiah cash is useful. Local QR payment and your foreign card are different systems.
Travel Cards
A travel card does not automatically give access to local QR payments. Keep rupiah for small businesses and confirm cash access before leaving the airport.
Tipping Culture
Small tips are appreciated for guides, drivers, and hotel help. Everyday purchases do not need an automatic percentage added. Example: if a hotel porter helps with a heavy bag, choose a small rupiah note based on local snack or drink prices and the effort. It is discretionary; check resort service charges first.
Getting Around
Getting Around Locally
Check whether your connection stays in the same airport and terminal. Jakarta and Bali are different gateways; a transfer requiring bag collection or a domestic flight can require entry into Indonesia.
Traveling Between Stops
Island travel needs flight or ferry planning, not just a taxi booking. For a separate Bali visit, allow real traffic time between the airport and your accommodation.
Staying Connected
Using T Mobile In Indonesia
Indonesia is listed for international roaming on eligible T Mobile plans. Data allowances, speeds, and call charges depend on your plan. Check before you travel.
Mobile Data For This Trip
Confirm the eSIM’s covered islands and activation requirements. Have the terminal or pickup details downloaded before arrival; buying a plan does not grant permission to leave an international transit area.

Use the official immigration portal to check your visa and the All Indonesia arrival declaration. Bali’s tourist levy is separate from immigration permission and does not apply to every Indonesian destination.
