What To Wear
What To Pack
Pack light clothes, rain protection, and shoes for the actual outing. Waterfall trips need more secure footwear than beach flip flops. Keep swimwear for the beach or pool and a cover up for town.
Money And Payments
Cash And Cards
Cards usually work at resorts, hotels, supermarkets, and established restaurants. Keep Jamaican dollars for local food stops, smaller businesses, transport, and tips. If a price is shown in dollars, establish whether it means Jamaican or US dollars before paying.
Travel Cards
Check the quoted currency before approving a card payment. A dollar symbol can mean JMD or USD; establish the total first.
Tipping Culture
Some resorts do not allow staff to accept tips. Away from those resorts, gratuities are common; read the bill for an added service charge. At a resort with a no tipping policy, respect it rather than putting staff in an awkward position. Elsewhere, leave Jamaican cash for the service you used and check restaurant service charges.
Getting Around
Getting Around Locally
Use an arranged licensed taxi or transfer and settle the price and currency first. A route taxi and a private charter are different services. Do not assume a quoted dollar fare means Jamaican dollars.
Traveling Between Stops
Kingston, Negril, Ocho Rios, and Port Antonio are spread out. Build your route around nights in each area rather than expecting quick day trips across the island. Match the airport to that route.

Using T Mobile In Jamaica
Jamaica is listed for international roaming on eligible T Mobile plans. Data allowances, speeds, and call charges depend on your plan. Check before you travel.
Mobile Data For This Trip
Download your driver’s contact and accommodation pin before a long coastal trip. A resort WiFi connection does not cover the drive between towns; keep a mobile backup for pickup changes.

Negril suits a beach base, Kingston a city and culture stay, and Port Antonio a greener coastal trip. Ocho Rios has its own resort and attraction area. My place reviews show the actual stops I visited.

Bob Marley Museum
Very lovely experience. You will learn a lot. You can take photos and videos in certain places that they allow you to. There is a hidden weed shop and place you can smoke as well. Wasn’t expecting that. Also make sure you check out. Tuff Gong

SO MUCH FUN! They take you to Rick‘s Café, but it’s so much better than driving there, because you’re getting all these cliff fuse. Once you get to Rick‘s, you can stay there for about an hour or so before it’s time to head back and enjoy

The World Famous Dunn's River Falls & Park
You can go by yourself! There are lockers! I definitely suggest starting from the very bottom and working your way up. I went on a Monday and when it was slightly raining and it was empty.
JACANA Farm Tours
Such a cool experience! Learnt ALOT more than I thought I would. At the end you get to learn how to roll and get fed 😍 can’t complain!

Beautiful place, works on donation. They do have natural springwater.

Fort Charles
Very unique and cool history. Half the place went under and the other half came up. Also, the tilted building is pretty cool. But I was surprised by the cannon that actually moves up and down.
