For Cappadocia, bring grippy shoes and a warm layer for an early balloon pickup, even after a hot afternoon. Mosque visits need more coverage and shoes that are easy to remove.

Cards usually work at hotels, supermarkets, shops, and established restaurants. Keep lira for market purchases, smaller vendors, and tips. Contactless works at equipped terminals; keep the physical card too.

Check lira conversion and current local prices. A euro quoted tour and a lira card charge need an agreed total before you approve payment.
Tipping Culture
A modest cash tip for restaurant service is customary. Check for a service charge before adding extra. Rounding up a taxi fare is enough. Keep small lira notes for a voluntary restaurant or hotel thank you. Think about current local prices rather than copying a lira amount from an old blog during inflation.

Cappadocia’s towns, valleys, and viewpoints are spread out. Compare a tour, driver, or permitted rental car with your actual route rather than assuming every stop is walkable from Göreme.
Traveling Between Stops
Kayseri and Nevşehir airports have different transfers. Confirm the pickup against your airport code. A long distance coach can work for some routes, but it is not a short substitute for every domestic flight.
