Penh House: Phnom Penh’s Hidden Gem with a Rooftop View to Remember

If you’re heading to Phnom Penh and want a mix of luxury, calm, and creativity, Penh House is the kind of place that makes you forget you’re in the middle of a busy city. From the moment I checked in, I knew I was in for something special. The property blends modern elegance with Cambodian charm, and every corner feels designed for comfort and inspiration.

The Stay

My room at Penh House was stunning. Everything was spotless and thoughtfully laid out. The design felt cozy yet upscale, with warm wood tones, soft lighting, and a balcony that opened up to a peaceful view of the city’s green canopy. Even the small details stood out — from the complimentary glass water bottles to the neatly packaged dental kits, shower caps, and high-quality bath products. It’s the kind of attention to detail that instantly makes you feel cared for.

To top it all off, the hotel gifted me a beautiful book on Cambodian cuisine curated by the Royal Highness herself. That little gesture perfectly captured the cultural appreciation behind Penh House’s brand.

The Breakfast

Breakfast was a full-on experience. You can have your omelet made fresh, your noodles prepared just the way you like, and there’s a huge variety of fruits, pastries, and local dishes. But what really makes it unforgettable is the view. You’re literally surrounded by a 360-degree view of Phnom Penh while you eat. Morning sunlight, fresh air, and that rooftop panorama, it’s the kind of breakfast you look forward to every single day.

The Rooftop Pool

The rooftop infinity pool is a dream. It overlooks the city and the Royal Palace area, and the vibe up there is pure relaxation. Whether you’re swimming, lounging, or ordering poolside drinks, it’s the perfect escape from the heat and noise below. You can easily spend hours here just soaking in the atmosphere and watching the skyline change colors as the sun sets.

The Location

You couldn’t ask for a better spot. Penh House is right near the Royal Palace and the riverfront, so you’re close to everything while still tucked away from the chaos. You can walk to shops, restaurants, and cultural spots in minutes, yet when you come back, it feels peaceful and private.

The Experience

What really made my stay memorable was the staff. Everyone was so warm and helpful, from check-in to checkout. They answered every question, helped with directions, and genuinely seemed happy to make guests feel at home. The gym was well equipped and overlooked lush greenery, and although I didn’t get to try the spa, it looked beautiful and serene.

Final Thoughts

Penh House is one of those hotels that reminds you why hospitality matters. It’s luxurious without being over the top, calm without being boring, and deeply connected to Cambodian culture. Whether you’re traveling for work, a quick city escape, or part of a longer adventure through Southeast Asia, this is a stay that’s absolutely worth it.
