If you’re in Pai on a Tuesday or Friday, and not during rain season (July - October) this is theĀ party you don’t want to miss. It’s not just floating down a river; it’s DJs, mud wrestling, foam parties, fire shows, and a whole bunch of drunk backpackers. Here’s exactly how it goes down:

šŸ’ø Price & Booking

  • Costs 250 baht

  • Buy your ticket the day before on Walking StreetĀ (any stand will do, doesn’t matter who you buy it from)

  • Includes your tube + transport, nothing else

🚐 Pickup

  • Pickup is between 11:30 and 12Ā from your hotel/hostel

  • You’ll be crammed into the back of an open pickup truck, standing up with everyone else, the party starts there

  • The truck that picks you up is the same one that takes you back, so you can leave non-essentials inside safely

šŸŽ’ What’s Provided vs What You Bring

Provided:

  • Tube

Bring yourself:

  • Drinks, snacks, ā€œparty favorsā€ (everything is BYO)

  • Waterproof bag (they sell cheap ones but better to bring your own)

  • Cash for bars and extras (balloons, shots, buckets)

  • Sunscreen and shoes you don’t mind losing

Not Provided:

  • No life jackets

  • No free drinks

  • No food

šŸŽ¶ How the Day Goes Down

  1. Pregame Spot

    • When you first arrive at the starting point, everyone pregames

    • DJ + bar on site

    • Chill, dance, drink, wait for everyone to gather

  2. First River Stop

    • Float down to the first stop

    • Another DJ + bar

    • Mud wrestling pit (yes, you’ll get filthy)

    • Social chaos kicks in here

  3. Final River Stop

    • The big one

    • Foam party, another DJ, fire show, bar, swing over the river

    • This is where the night vibe hits before heading back

  4. Return

    • Everyone piles back into the same truck you came with

    • Drop-off back in town in the evening, usually around 6

āš ļø Things to Keep in Mind

  • It’s a party event, not a calm float. If you want peace and nature, skip this.

  • People do lose stuff every single trip. Bring only what you can afford to lose.

  • Don’t expect safety gear—you’re on your own.

  • It’s super social—you’ll end up with a group even if you arrive solo.

  • The river current can vary depending on the season (rainy season = faster).

šŸ—ļø Quick Tips for Success

  • Eat before you go, because food options are limited.

  • Reapply sunscreen. You’ll be in the sun for hours.

  • Keep some small bills for drinks/balloons.

  • Have a chill plan for after—you’ll be wiped.
